Clergy
Dawn Vigil
- Rite to Solarin at sunrise.
- Priests greet the first light with prayer and song.
Dusk Vigil
- Rite to Lunira at dusk.
- Open to mourners, who may name their dead.
Star-Naming
- A new priest keeps a night-long watch.
- At the end, they choose a patron star.
- Later ranks may pledge to a constellation, then to the whole pantheon.
Rites of Favor
- Priests bless harvests, voyages, and weddings.
- Each blessing is offered to a fitting star.
Laity
The Household Shrine
- A small altar with a sun and a moon.
- A star token stands for the family’s patron star.
- Families pray at dawn and dusk.
Offerings
- Grain, candles, and silver coins.
- Left at shrines and temple steps.
Festivals
- Held at the solstices and equinoxes.
- Temples host feasts, processions, and blessings.
Giving to the Church
- Giving is the heart of reciprocity.
- The Order teaches that gifts keep the celestials pleased.
- Gifts may be small or large.
The Tithe of Light
- A yearly gift of one tenth of a household’s harvest or earnings.
- Collected at the local temple after the autumn festival.
- Families who pay receive a tithe seal for their household shrine.
Letters of Indulgence
- Paid for minor sins.
- A priest signs and seals a letter.
- The letter says the sin is forgiven in the eyes of the celestials.
- Higher prices buy grander letters.
Sponsored Candles
- A worshipper pays for a candle lit in their name.
- It burns for a night, a season, or a year.
- The candle is said to carry their prayer to a chosen star.
Relics and Holy Goods
- Temples sell blessed charms, star-tokens, and small relics.
- Buyers keep them at home or use them in rituals.
- Great relics are kept in temple vaults and shown on holy days.
Endowments
- Wealthy patrons pay for chapels, windows, and altars.
- Their names are carved into the work.
- The Order says this earns lasting favor for the family.
